Fix it yourself - if you have tools and facilities
to work

Buy automotive parts online or used parts and save

Make money on the resell - or 'trade up' for a newer
model

If the car is drivable - all three objectives can be achieved easily. If the car is not drivable due to severe body damage or no engine or transmission - your risk goes up and you may be buying scrap metal.

Under no circumstance should you pay a technician to fix the car - labor charges and new parts are so expensive.
